Registered Physiotherapist, MSc PT, IMS, BA in Dance
Kristen graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2015. Kristen’s desire to become a physical therapist stemmed from her fascination with the human body through her studies in dance and yoga. She received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Dance from the University of Calgary in 2008, and her Registered Yoga Teacher Certification from Moksana Yoga Center in Victoria in 2009.
Kristen has extensive post graduate training in manual therapy and has completed Level 3 with the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Kristen has a special interest in dance rehabilitation medicine and trained with world renowned dance physiotherapist Lisa Howel in New York city. Kristen is certified in acupuncture and earned her ACC designation (Acupuncture Canada Certification). She is also certified in IMS/Dry needling through LearnIMS with Dr.Goodman. Kristen has additional training in concussion management through Concussion Rehab Works.
Kristen brings joy and enthusiasm to her physiotherapy practice. She is results driven and loves seeing her patients get back to doing what they love. She is passionate about providing patients with high quality care and developing meaningful therapeutic relationships. She believes in the importance of thorough assessments and treatments, as well as, extensive education. She ensures patients have individualized treatment plans to match their unique goals and empowers them to use self-management strategies.
Outside the clinic, Kristen enjoys Latin dancing, playing basketball, weight lifting, bicycling, traveling, learning Spanish, and practicing yoga.
