A trained manual therapist and a Woman’s Health Practitioner with extensive clinical experience, April holds an Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopaedic Division and is a Fellow in the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT). She is also certified in Chan Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CG*IMS) through the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (iSTOP), holds a Certificate of the Acupuncture Foundation Canada Institute (CAFCI) to perform Medical Acupuncture, and is a graduate from the Discover Physio Series with Diane Lee and L.J. Lee, with a focus on the Integrated Systems Model (ISM) and Thoracic Ring Approach. She is trained in osteopathic training in visceral and neuromeningeal manipulation. April is also a clinical pilates instructor and is a women’s health physiotherapist.
April graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2006 with a Masters in Physical Therapy, following her Bachelors degree in Kinesiology & Physical Education from the University of the Fraser Valley (formerly UCFV). She is currently an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine – Masters of Physical Therapy Program. April teaches post-graduate courses to physiotherapists and was recognized with the Clinical Educator Award from the UBC physiotherapy department.
