Sean Campbell

Sean Campbell is an active physical therapist, educator and Athletic Performance, Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine and Performance Consultant.

Sean’s approach to physiotherapy is rooted in the twin foundations of hands-on clinical experience and extensive academic and clinical training. He has earned a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia along with a Masters Degree in Exercise Science, and an Honours Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria. He was awarded an Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopaedic Division, is a Fellow in the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT) and is certified in Chan Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CG*IMS) through the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (iSTOP). He is a graduate of the Discover Physio Series with Diane Lee and L.J. Lee, with a focus on the Integrated Systems Model (ISM) and Thoracic Ring Approach and he has osteopathic training in visceral and neuromeningeal manipulation. Sean is also the lead instructor for Foundations Health Education’s AN-IMS dry needling courses.

Sean has also been involved in elite sport for more than 30 years as a therapist, as a Sports Medicine Consultant, and as an athlete. He has worked with athletes of all levels, from professional, national, and college to youth in sports including, but not limited to ice hockey, volleyball, field hockey, soccer, triathlon, and cross-country skiing. Sean’s own competitive career highlights include the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, a Pan American Games Gold Medal, and eight national Championships in Field Hockey.

Sean currently teaches at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine – Masters of Physical Therapy Program, leads post-graduate courses for physiotherapists, and is an in-demand lecturer for national, provincial and community sport organizations, on such topics as injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance.
