Registered Physiotherapist, MPT, BKin, CAFCI, FCAMPT, CG*IMS, AN-IMS/Dry Needling
A trained manual therapist and a Woman’s Health Practitioner with extensive clinical experience, April holds an Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopaedic Division and is a Fellow in the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT). She is also certified in Chan Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CG*IMS) through the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (iSTOP), holds a Certificate of the Acupuncture Foundation Canada Institute (CAFCI) to perform Medical Acupuncture, and is a graduate from the Discover Physio Series with Diane Lee and L.J. Lee, with a focus on the Integrated Systems Model (ISM) and Thoracic Ring Approach. She is also trained in osteopathic training in visceral and neuromeningeal manipulation.
April graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2006 with a Masters in Physical Therapy, following her Bachelors degree in Kinesiology & Physical Education from the University of the Fraser Valley (formerly UCFV). She is currently an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine – Masters of Physical Therapy Program. April teaches post-graduate courses to physiotherapists and was recognized with the Clinical Educator Award from the UBC physiotherapy department.
